Challenge: Encourage more female BYU students to become Econ majors.
As a class, we all worked on coming up with ideas to encourage female BYU students to become Econ majors. Within the class, we had several smaller teams. Ideas and thoughts from multiple brainstorm sessions are show below.
Our team decided to focus on changing perceptions of the Econ major. We created a series of short, 5-minute lectures featuring interesting and practical uses of economics, to be taught at the beginning of each Econ 110 class. We also created an ad campaign to show that female economics majors are just like everyone else. I was responsible for creating the following posters to be used in the campaign:
